Privacy Policy
In short: what you copy stays on your Mac, or in your own private iCloud if you turn on sync. We don't collect it, we can't see it, and Paste Ninja has no analytics, ads, tracking or accounts.
What Paste Ninja stores
Paste Ninja is a clipboard manager. To do its job it keeps, on your Mac:
- Your clips: the text, links, code and images you copy (when automatic capture is on) or save yourself.
- Details about each clip: the app it was copied from, and for Chrome, Arc, Edge and Brave the web page, when the browser provides it. Also when it was copied, how many times, and any title, tags, notes or collection you add.
- Your settings, such as what to capture, apps to ignore, shortcuts and the dock position.
This data lives in Paste Ninja's own storage on your Mac, which other apps can't read. It never leaves your Mac unless you turn on iCloud sync.
What Paste Ninja doesn't collect
We, the developers of Paste Ninja, don't collect any data. Paste Ninja has no analytics, advertising or tracking code, doesn't send crash reports to us, and doesn't need an account. The App Store's privacy label for Paste Ninja is Data Not Collected.
Automatic capture
Automatic capture is off until you turn it on. While it's on, Paste Ninja checks the clipboard about once a second and saves what's new. It skips copies that apps mark as private or temporary, as password managers do, and copies from apps you choose to ignore. Password managers such as Passwords, 1Password and Bitwarden are ignored by default. You can pause capture at any time from the menu bar.
With Review before sync, clips captured automatically stay on this Mac until you approve them, so nothing you copied by mistake is synced.
If you turn on screenshot capture (Pro), Paste Ninja reads only the folder you choose, and only new screenshots in it.
iCloud sync
iCloud sync is optional and part of Paste Ninja Pro. When it's on, your clips are stored in your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so they appear on your other Macs signed in to the same Apple Account. We can't access that data. Apple's Privacy Policy covers how iCloud stores it.
Purchases
Paste Ninja Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never receive your payment details. Paste Ninja checks on your Mac, through Apple's StoreKit, whether you have Pro.
Backups and exports
You can export your clips as a Paste Ninja backup, Markdown or CSV, and import backups and text files, at any time and for free. Files are saved only where you choose. With automatic backups (Pro), Paste Ninja writes a backup to the folder you pick, such as one in iCloud Drive, and moves older automatic backups to the Trash. Backups aren't encrypted, so keep them somewhere private.
Deleting your data
- Delete any clip from Paste Ninja. Deleted clips stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, then they're removed for good.
- Settings › Privacy › Erase All Data removes every clip, collection and tag at once. If iCloud sync is on, this also removes them from your other Macs.
- Synced data can also be removed in System Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
Children
Paste Ninja doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date above.
